Thon Gruppen selects Piscada for smarter management of its properties
A four-year agreement on energy optimisation and portfolio operations across hotels, shopping centres, and commercial properties.
Trondheim/Oslo, 2026 — Piscada AS has signed a four-year framework agreement with Thon Gruppen for the delivery of the Foresight platform. The agreement covers energy optimisation, operational monitoring, and analytics across relevant parts of Thon Gruppen's portfolio of approximately 500 properties.
Thon Gruppen is one of Norway's largest privately owned real estate companies with a portfolio valued at over NOK 100 billion. The group comprises more than 90 hotels and approximately 93 shopping centres.
Commercial real estate faces major challenges
The real estate industry is experiencing increasing pressure on multiple fronts. Energy costs represent a growing share of operating expenses, while sustainability requirements from authorities and tenant demands for green certifications are intensifying.
Traditional building management systems provide limited insight across portfolios, and data from energy metering and operations often resides in separate systems. This makes it difficult to see the connection between operational decisions and energy consumption — and to systematically identify opportunities for improvement.
From reactive to proactive operations
Traditionally, building owners have used many separate systems to manage their properties. Foresight brings everything together in one platform that continuously monitors all technical systems, automatically alerts on operational deviations, and documents results from improvements.

The agreement builds on successful pilot projects at Ski Storsenter and Diagonale in Oslo.

Open platform without vendor lock-in
Foresight differs from traditional building management systems by using open standards for data modelling. The platform continuously analyses all technical systems and provides concrete recommendations based on real-time data and historical records.

The framework agreement runs from October 2025 to September 2029, with an option for a further five-year extension.
An analytics layer on top of existing systems
Traditional building management systems control technical installations in individual buildings. Foresight adds an analytics layer on top that consolidates operational data across entire portfolios — discovering connections that are impossible to see in each individual system.
Via BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, and open APIs, Foresight connects directly to substations, IoT sensors, and technical equipment — regardless of vendor and without touching existing building management systems. This allows property companies to adopt advanced energy optimisation and predictive fault detection without major investments in new infrastructure.
